First, they are hard to reach; they don't answer emails. Second, I just bought three cheap courses and membership was never mentioned nor did I purchase it. A couple of weeks later, they charged me for a membership I never bought, just because they illegally held my credit card information.

Be very careful with the company Domestika! They use false advertising.

On 1.12.24, I paid for a spoon carving course taught by @a.ndrea_cortes for $1.99 USD, only to find they charged me an extra $108.86 USD on 31.12.24, without my permission. For this amount of money I could have done an in person spoon carving course.

This company does not respond to you except with bots. They are however able to limit disgruntled customers sharing their experiences on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter/X), to prevent them warning prospective customers about their deceitful practices.

I have been unsuccessful in getting my money back from my bank and PayPal. I dont believe Domestika is abiding by Australian Consumer Laws & has taken the funds illegally.

I have reported this matter to Australian Federal Police and SCAMWatch (who share information with the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission).

The spoon carving community is very small and I will be sharing my experience about this company on every internet platform that I can (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, Google review etc), because I do believe this company has used fraudulent tactics to advertise their courses.

Tens of thousands of customers been scammed by Domestika Inc. Please do your due diligence and never deal with them (give your bank details), otherwise you will be scammed too!

If you have been scammed please sign the Change Org petition called Domestika Estafadores (with 12+ K signatures and counting), to help get a class action off the ground. Sorry I can't post the email address here!

I've had a very disappointing experience with Domestika.

I was charged $124.19 for an annual Domestika Plus subscription that I never meant to sign up for.

I had activated a free trial, but I didn't realize it would automatically renew into a paid plan without clear consent or proper warning.

I reached out to their support team multiple times, but all I've received are automated responses that don't help at all. I've explained that I haven't used the subscription benefits and didn't authorize this charge, but they just keep redirecting me to their refund policy without really addressing the issue.

Moreover, there is currently no way to remove my payment details from their platform, and contacting their support team did not help resolve the issue either.

I genuinely liked and respected Domestika for its courses, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I hope they start treating their customers with more care because this kind of situation leaves a really bad impression.

I also didn't intend to continue the yearly subscription fee (which I accidentally signed up for under two accounts... I know).

I cancelled within a couple hours of the deadline but can't get anything but am automated response. Ideally I'd like to get both refunded bc I haven't used it at all, but surely they can at least see that the second account was a complete accident bc it's never, ever been used for anything.I like the courses.

But. Customer service is scam level

WARNING! Be cautious when buying courses from Domestika, as they misleadingly and automatically enroll you in an annual subscription without clear notice.

I purchased a course for 0.99 USD and was later charged 120.36 USD for an annual plan I didn't intend to sign up for. I reached out for a refund but received NO response. The subscription cannot be easily canceled, and this can lead to serious stress and financial issues.

Check reviews on Trustpilot and other legitimate sites for similar complaints. Be careful before making a purchase!

On November 23, I purchased two online courses for $0.99 each. But 24 December, $260.00 was unexpectedly withdrawn from my card for additional services unknown to me that I did not subscribe to!

I am convinced that Domestika is a serious organization that does not engage in financial fraud and in this case, there was an error.

Please return $260.00 back to my card as soon as possible! These funds are intended for my son's flight to a university in another city.

Good morning,

I was charged for a Domestika Plus subscription with purchase #C4053****T2608****. However, I do not have access to it, and my subscription page reads: 'You aren't a Domestika Plus member yet. Subscribe to Domestika Plus to get free access to watch thousands of courses, 12 annual credits to exchange for any course, course certificates, and more.' This confirms that I'm not a subscriber, yet I have paid $111.58 for it.

Your help center has not been helpful. I wish to have the option to unsubscribe and avoid being charged for a service I cannot use.

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Infuriating, frustrating and unsatisfactory

A month ago I bought a short online course from Domestika.
I can see it all now that I have had to go back through emails, but when I bought the course - on offer at a fraction of the usual cost, I thought that was all I was doing - buying a short online video course.
Without my knowledge, and not authorised by me, when I paid for the course, onto my receipt, they sneakily slipped the addition of the 30 day free trial period of Domestika Plus. I briefly saw Domestika Plus mentioned, and something about credits, which all seemed like superfluous info at the time to what I'd signed up for and I didn't give it any more attention.

(I wish I had!)
What happened next - when I bought the short course - the 14 day-cooling off period for Domestika Plus also started. That is the most insidious part of the whole thing I think, and it all smacks to me of deviousness from the outset. As though they have designed the whole thing from end to end with despicable intent. That is truly how it feels.
A couple of days ago the trial period ended, but because I didn't even know I was on a trial period, I hadn't cancelled it in time before they automatically took $115.89 via PayPal from my bank account.

I was shocked to discover this, as I did not knowingly sign up for a trial period or the annual subscription. As far as I was concerned, I was purchasing a short video course for a little over £5!
I tried and tried in vain to request a refund from the website but the instructions offered to request a refund do not appear for me. The refund button doesn't appear. I know now it is because I am not eligible in their eyes for a refund because I didn't cancel the subscription in time.

Honestly, if they had inadvertently signed me up for a month I wouldn't be so upset - but for a year and for over £100 is so out of order!
I have been on the site for the last 2 days trying to either request a refund or send a message. It even took a very long time, and a search outside the site to find a link to the Contact Form.
I have written a few times now and received the same message - obviously from AI - over and over again, telling me the steps to take to request the refund, which as I explained above - do not work.
After discussing this in depth with both Paypal and my Bank, it is clear that Domestika covers themselves very well with their Terms and Conditions. This doesn't make up for despicable behaviour and customer service, though! (Their response to Paypal's communication to them was to send them their 20-page Terms and Conditions!)
I am very frustrated and literally furious that this money has been taken from me without my true authority and consent.

I feel scammed and quite frankly - abused!
I also wish I'd done a search for reviews of Domestika before buying the course because I would have been very wary. Trustpilot give them 1.8 rating - which is Poor and there are so many people with the same story as me!
But I'm glad to find this site which feels like an oasis in the desert :-)
and through them I have sent a message to Domestika's legal team - I await their response.
The email receipt I've included, I realise now they had the audacity to entitle the email - "Your receipt for "Domestika Plus" and "1" more". - having only ordered the Course!

You can see how they have included the Domestika Plus in there ... Grrrrr!!!

I am one of almost 12,000 people (and counting more) who were illegally charged by DOMESTIKA for purchasing a $1 product. Domestika very snickily charges you a subscription in the amount of 100 dollars and more after a month with no future warnings and no possibility of refund.

Their support is impossible because they have an automatic response to every email and every help you ask them. If you are lucky, they will respond to your endless comments on social networks and write to you that they do not tolerate writing such comments as refunds.

Domestika still hasn't responded to all customer complaints, and believe me, there are quite a few of them. The number of dissatisfied customers is increasing and Domestika is still taking money from people

Hello,

On June 10th, I started a free trial. On June 15th, I cancelled my free trial and took screenshots of the confirmation as I wasn't enjoying the content. However, I just noticed that I was charged $133 on July 15th. It is almost impossible to get help on their website.

Then, I sent an email, and received an unsatisfactory response that didn't answer my concerns. I subsequently wrote back two more times, but they have not responded. They took my money, and the site will not allow me to delete the credit card I had on file for the free trial, so I suspect they will attempt to take more funds.

I'm beyond fed up and angry. I'll be filing a complaint with BBB as well.

I have been trying to contact then before the free trial expired. I couldnt log in to the platform to cancel the subscription as I was NEVER SUBSCRIBED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Incorrectly charged

I recently noticed an incorrect charge on my account for an annual membership. To clarify: I only purchased a course and did not sign up for a membership.

I did not opt for any free trial or membership at any point. I received no communication indicating that I had enrolled in a free trial or membership. I emailed Domestika, only for them to direct me to a link stating that they don't give refunds.

I have seen many complaints on the internet about the exact same situation. Very disappointing!

I contacted them several times that I didn't want to get charged the yearly membership after the trial. Period there is nowhere on the app or online to cancel my payment method or the trial.

They charged me anyways! I have had no help from them.
